Before I start. Just a disclaimer. I believe that Jesus Christ is the LORD and SAVIOUR. There will be more post like this. If you think it's humbug, I have nothing against you. I can't force my faith down your throat. But last i check this is my bank and you here to ogle; so let me speak my mind and hope you enjoy the cool stream. : )
Was just reading about Judas and Peter. The contrast on how they handled their
Many times we do make mistakes and blunders. Moreover, there are times we end up in an endless loop. Like a bad loony tunes where the artist got lazy and just kept flipping the motion pages back and forth making poor coyote hit his head repeatedly into a wall.
And the aftermath of our folly, is the guilt. But we need to be aware of what the guilt is and distinguish the guilt and the source of it.
"Source of guilt? You bafoon - duh yourself?"
Judas betrayed Jesus for a few silver coins with a kiss. Mafia style - ok maybe not on the lips.
He felt guilty and most probably cried and sweared.
What did he do? Hanged himself - wonder if he squandered his little loot first though.
Peter was told he was going to deny Jesus. He said fat chance - yet he did 3 times. (whatadouche).
He felt guilty and the crow most probably defecated on his head.
What did he do? He came back to Jesus & asked for forgiveness; telling him he still loved him - in non gay-manner of coz

So what's the contrast? The conviction from the guilt.
Judas felt condemned and couldn't look himself in the mirror. I'm sure he contemplated trying to make ammendments. But he couldn't face to the fact that he was a sinner. He made no peace with God and decided to take matters in his own hand.
Firstly, God does not condemn (Romans 8:1). When we hate ourselves for what we done, when we beat ourselves over it, or when we feel too ashame or even when we feel unworthy to do God's calling - that "conviction" is not of God. But from the devil playing on our carnal mind.
Secondly, the devil's main goal is too pull us away from God. To not rely on God. Even when we know we are wrong we try to fix it, but keep falling into the same sin and we keep trying to focus harder on breaking the chain we can still be the devil's victory. We feel hatred towards our sin and put all our focus on breaking it and really its just pushing us away from focusing on the Victor.
Peter on the other hand. Understood who he needed to turn back to - immediately (or in his case when he face the Son of Man). We yield to God, confess to God and obey God, that's where the real conviction is.
We are already winners and victors through Christ. We are no longer in bondage of sin. We just bouncing back (Galatians 5:1)! Sin should never hold you down. We might fall - after all we're still human; but we should pick up ourselves.

Ultimately, we should be getting back right with God. Stop focusing on the problem and move on. You didn't see Peter saying "JESUS, I did wrong so i'm gonna go to those people i talked to and say I DON'T DENY YOU". No - instead he did what Jesus want and that was to build His church. He moved on and focus onto God.
