Christmas so far

Just watched 500 Days of Summer. And i could relate to what Tom felt.

We do want to be labelled. And i'm not talking bout being labelled "cream-puff boy", "michelin man", "anal girl", or "nerdo". I mean - being named after a world-famous tyre company, sure i'm flattered really... But being referred to a marshmallow, layered and literally bigger than life mascot isn't my idea of pleasantry.

What i mean is that people want to know where they stand in any situation.

In a relationship: are we just friends, secret-lovers, boyfriend and girlfriend, engaged or just awkward friends.

In a office: the photocopier, kept for valued skills, disposable, or there just coz' i'm needed diversity.

In a crowd: am i wanted or am i just lost.

Tada! My first 120 Roll!

YAY Finally got my first (two) roll(s) of my holga!

Some things i've learnt:

• None of my multiple exposures work : (  I shall try again! Any tips on how to get a good one?
• Not only that, my long exposure shots were terrible...i will have to buy a tripod and a shutter release thingy
  
• Shots taken while moving abit really sucks when you don't want it to look shaky.
• Don't over estimate its capabilities.
• Take more and more don't be stingy.
• I'm sure i have more to learn in this adventure with Holga.
• (Editted) and always have a supply of rolls at hand.....sob

Christmas Gala - Watoto

Our church had a Christmas Gala Dinner. It was held to raise funds for an organization called Watoto House. Watoto House is a non-profit christian organization that builds home for children in Africa that are orphaned by AIDS, war, and poverty. Not only do they give a home but their main work is to rebuild their lives and chance for a brighter future that was once all lost to them.

 We manage to raise a huge amount thanks to the support through the art auction that was held during the gala, which all proceeds went to Watoto House.We came out rocking with our very best as well. So below are a few pictures of Joseph3 (the LG i'm in).....and a camwhore picture of what i wore that day

Yeah i know, Clueless was the extreme chick flick of my teen years. But i have a sentimental value to it. You see my big sister used to watch this on VHS religiously and made me sit down with her. She'd practice the Alicia Silverstone Pout for hours in front of the mirror and redesign her wardrobe to what they wore. And she'd make me wear baggy clothes like the skater boiz in the movie. Yet i grew on the little quotes in the movie and will always remember Tai doing "Rolling with my homies".

Mole Swimming with the Fishes

Saw Moleskine Daily Diary being sold at Dymocks after i bought my 2010 from Kikki.K which is twice heavier. This is after they tell me they don't sell Moleskine diaries and never have had it on sale!

ARGH.

The same night, i had a scruptious seafood fiesta at Cafe21 - thanks to Francis, you're a legend. AUS300 to spend on just food. So just imagine how much seafood we ate....sure to make a pirate jealous!

The pictures were just simply breathtaking. The torrential unforgiving rain and waves, the tribal fire burning lonely on the island, the rumpus through the forest, the lair. Each scened moved too fast to actually soak in its detailed artistic beauty.

Every Wild Thing, i believe, was a personification of Max's traits and emotion - lonely, helpful, awkward, disruptive, loving, hot-tempered, destructive and thoughtful (trytofitthepiecesyourself).

I did buy a Holga 120GCFN online last month. Lo and Behold it has finally arrived in all its plastic glory!

I'm super psyched! I can't wait to take pictures with it. I'm gonna buy my film tomorrow and start my radar for things to shoot.

You know how people always say "sometimes i take things for granted, after i experience etc etc" Or "you don't know how lucky you are because etc etc". I know all of us actually know how grateful we are. We know 'bout the famine that's happening around, war that is occurring around us. But yet i can tell you we really really don't know how grateful we are for what God has provided to us. Watch this clip for yourself.

What strike me the most was seeing the family pray. Honestly if i had to live like that i wouldn't be praying with a smile.

1 Corinthians 10:13 says , "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."

Although it talks about temptation, i believe God in the same way would not put us through pain that we cannot bear. He is our provider!

Though to us it may seem disgusting (ididfeellikevommittinghonest) to others it is their source of life. He gives us the strength, ability and means to stay alive. Do you feel pity for them? disgusted? Or even embarrassed about yourself? I hold them at the highest esteemed; to live such humble life yet able to live a life to its fullest in God - puts me to shame.

Those who have much, needs more; but don't really need it.
Those who have nothing, needs more; but will have everything.

One of them being the late Yasmin Ahmad, whose Petronas Special Ads. have always been something I look forward to when a seasonal holiday arrives.

They're playing on the 1st of March 2010. And on that day i have to be back in Malaysia. FML. Don't get me wrong either way i'll still be happy. But sigh...it'll be awesome to be there. I'll definately go for their concert even if no one wants to go with me...which usually (a sad case) is true....FMLx2....

So i'll share my germs with her XD lol sucks to be her....and me...FMLx3 seems like i'm going for the gala now....i feel like the bad guy for dumping her...atleast i'lll meet her after? right?....FML...again....

{source}What can i say. Fate brought me to them a year ago while surfing the web.
You'll have to be deaf not to pick-up the sounds of Temper Trap.
I cannot place a finger of what they really sound like.
It all sounds too familiar yet so profound and fresh.
Every decade,
a group of kids get together and bang a few drums and strum a few strings.
But not all could transcend beyond the multifacet of the music universe.

Temper Trap with its vocals of Mandagi and melody of the outfit sets the pace to where they are now:-
Nomiated for Album of the 2009, Single of 2009 and Breakthrough Album of 2009.
Althought they didn't win any. They're still a winner in my book.

Stereosonic 2009

I must say this has been one of the best...no... the best Stereosonic i've been to.

Although i flew solo this time round - i really had a blast! The weather was sunny, the breeze was cool and the ladies were hot.

DropTheLime

was simply amazing. From Elvis rock and roll to hardcore-techno to minimal to breakbeats. This bad-*** pulled all the stops. It felt like a moshpit at rave if you know what i'm sayin'.

But even in the middle of all the insane beats from this dood i was still eagerly waiting and constantly checking my clock for Bloody Beetroots!

But i waited and waited, DropTheLime went on for freaking two hours and still NO Beetroots! And to make matters worst Surkin pops up (which he was suppose to come AFTER the BLOODY Beetroots!!!) Couldn't wait there any longer as i wanted to go to the other tent. FREAKING HELL and i found out later from some drunk angry reveller that organizers moved  the Bloody Beetroots to the main tent and that's why DropTheLime had the longest set in the whole festival.........I could shoot myself now. Buttttt it wasn't all that bad......

That's right Fedde le GRAND was up next! Man, when those lyrics get blasted the whole crowd just went berserk. It was 10 on the Richter scale. Although i missed the djs i was totally looking forward to, Fedde made it all better again.

After jumping for a whole good set. The stage crew brought up this gigantic heart

You knew it was beating for Axwell.I haven't heard any of his produced music before. But i've been to his DJ sets. And it has always been phenomena. This guy is just a real crowd pleaser. And when he played "Sweet Disposition" by the Temper Traps it was spectacular. Man, Temper Trap is awesome but Axwell made it godlike.

And what better way to end the night. Ghost and stuff? DeadMau5! I can't remember when was the first time i heard him. But he got me back into techno. I mean when you hear about techno, you'd think they sound all the same doofdoofootzootz. But man DeadMau5, HE IS TECHNO! although i wasn't into the whole vocals on "Ghost and Stuff" but he didn't dissappoint. He had an aussie Mau5 head! lol

At one time he played this really slow, extacy, melody. And some shirtless fool next to me was like "Omg he's putting me to sleep". I wanted to smack him in the head. But me being the little asian and him being the big islander guy....i decided to just enjoy the music and let sleeping kiwis lie.

All in all it was a good day.

Though may not coincide with our own everyday life but every emotion felt could be related to our individual situation one way another:- shame, indifference, responsibility beyond our limits, emptiness, family, future, fear and change.

How one who doesn't understand danger, anger, or even common sense can know what death is.....

Johnny Depp, as always, performed more than a facade but rather to the heart.

And this movie just shows why Leornardo will always be one of the greatest young actors of our time.
